Rowan Portrait

£22.00

Letterpress print on oval-shaped, botanically dyed handmade paper.

A nod to victorian era silhouette portraits. This isn't just a botanical print, It is a portrait of a beloved plant neighbour!

Rowan (Sorbus aucuparia) is a tree steeped in folklore and history. Often planted in kirkyards, it was taboo to cut down a Rowan tree, which is just as well because I'm not the only one to love its joyfully jewel-bright berries - blackbird, mistle thrush, redstart, redwing, song thrush, waxwing, and fieldfare are all fans of this antioxidant-rich autumn fare.

Paper composition: cotton and abaca

Dyestuff: Cutch, grapeseed

Limited print run of 25

Dimensions: 5 × 7 inches

Unframed and mounted on 8 × 1 inch board
