Record of Rain Limited Print - Thadingyut
‘Record of Rain’ is a collaboration between Lauren Smith and Thee Oo Thazin, supported by the British Council’s Connections Through Culture grant program. It explores the changing rain patterns of Myanmar and the impacts of climate change while acknowledging our connectedness within the Earth’s hydrological system.
Thadingyut is the seventh month of the Myanmar lunisolar calendar falling from mid-October to mid-November.
This body of work feels more timely than ever with the people of Myanmar dealing with the aftermath of an earthquake whilst still struggling to recover from catastrophic floods. And with monsoon season imminent I will be donating 50% of profits from the sale of these Prints to Myanmar earthquake relief.
Paper composition: Reclaimed calico rag and coffee sack, rainwater vat
Limited print run of 20
Dimensions: approximately 8.5 × 12 inches (A4)
