











Paper making workshop at Traade, Portobello
Learn how to create your own reclaimed rag and plant fiber paper
During the workshop you will:
Learn the basics of sheet forming from the pulp vat using a ‘Deckle and Mould’
Create your your own stack of beautiful A5, plant fibre, deckled edge papers (note - after the workshop your sheets will need a few days to dry and flatten. You can either collect your sheets in person during the following week or have them posted to you).
Hand paper making is a wonderfully tactile and sensory process with many creative possibilities. It can be combined with a multitude of creative mediums and practices from print-making to painting to bookbinding and more!
About your tutor:
Lauren is a hand paper maker, letterpress printer and botanical dyer. Combining these disciplines she creates original artworks that are rooted in and inspired by the living world and provides made-to-order paper and print services. Her handmade papers are created using plant fibres, bi-product and reclaimed cotton rag which is dyed exclusively with botanicals.
Suitability: Beginner, 14+(children must be accompanied by an adult)
Required: yourself, suitable clothes you don’t mind getting a little wet
What we provide: All tools and materials are supplied during the workshop.
