Curiously un-functional playing cards
I had an inexplicable urge to create some playing cards using my smallest handmade papers. Maybe it was nostalgia of long hours spent playing card games with loved ones or maybe I just like the idea that a playing card made from handmade paper could never be functional. What better way to highlight the fact that each piece of paper has a unique imperfect beauty of its own!
For this first release I have chosen four of my favourite coastal birds; Heron, Curlew, Cormorant and Tern, brought to life on my antique, treadle operated printing press.
To help you with easy framing, I have mounted these on neutral white mount-board ready to be framed.
You can choose between all 4 cards on an 8×10 inch mount-board or two cards on an A5 mount-board - both standard frame sizes.
They are lightly attached with paper tape which can be carefully removed if you wish to display them in your own way.
I also have a selection of individual cards available unmounted.
